Confecciones Moda Piel, was created by current owner Engineer Mauricio Orozco in 1990. The company started with only four sewing machines and five employees, always with the vision of making distinguished products of the highest quality in order to be sold to major brands. In 1991 Confecciones Moda Piel obtained its first order from the retail chain ROBERT´S.
Following on from this major development, the company expanded its market and in 1995 succeeded in selling to Mexico’s number one department store, El Palacio de Hierro.
By 1998 the company was a major supplier to large chains and department stores in Mexico such as: Liverpool, JC Penney®, Sears®, Michel Domit, Scappino®, Florsheim®, Coppel, and C&A ® amongst others.
In the year 2000 the company opened its first international office located in Tianjin, China and in 2001 the market trends research and purchasing office was opened in Solofra, Italy. In 2002 we obtained recognition as a leading company in Mexican leatherwear
from the Economic European Community.
Later, in 2003 we became the first Mexican supplier of leather jackets for the company Harley-Davidson. In 2003 moved into the business of Brand Licenses and signed its first contracts with the international brands Guy Laroche and Halston.
In 2004 Confecciones Moda Piel received the state prize for exports and in the same year the Mexican President Vicente Fox Quezada awarded Engineer Mauricio Orozco the prestigious “International Businessman of the Year” award.
